Sanctuary Point Children’s Centre Celebrates 25 Years
15-Apr-2011 25 years ago on the 1st April we opened our doors with just 9 children and 7 staff. Today in 2011 we have an average enrolment of 39 children with a team of 11 which includes 7 permanent staff and 4 support staff.
We celebrated our 25th Birthday with a Family Fun Day. The weather could have been better but it did not stop us all from having a great time, with the ever popular Jumping Castle, Face Painting, Sausage Sizzle, Devonshire tea.
On the day we held a huge garage sale with items donated by our families and this was a great success. The raffle also proved popular raising a record amount which will be used to enhance the resources for the children. The staff had the most fun, dressing up on the day as Clowns, Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pirates, Fairies, Raggedy Ann and a Witch.
Our Birthday Cake was cut Barb who has worked at the centre from opening and Kristy who has two children at the centre and she herself attended the centre 25 years ago as a three year old.
